WORKSAFE BC CLIENTS
Do you have a WSBC Claim and need physiotherapy? We bill WSBC directly for your physiotherapy visits if you have been injured on the job and have a valid WSBC Claim. There is no out of pocket cost and you can typically get started right away.
How many physiotherapy treatments do I get with a valid WSBC Claim?
WSBC pre-approves 15 physiotherapy sessions for the first 6 weeks after your injury date. If more treatment is required, your physiotherapist will submit a Treatment Plan asking for approval for an extension based on your current goals and function. If the plan is approved by WSBC more session will be provided.
What do I need to start my physiotherapy treatments?
All you need is a valid WSBC Claim number and the date of your injury to get started.
WSBC automatically approves a physiotherapy assessment if you are attending the appointment within 60 days of the injury date. If 60 days have passed from your accident date and you want to book an initial assessment, we will contact WSBC to have the first assessment approved.
Once approved by WSBC, these initial visits allow the physiotherapist to assess and treat you, while completing a Physiotherapy Treatment Plan to submit to WSBC. The treatment plan would include your critical job demands and duties, your current abilities and recommendation to return to work.
WORK CONDITIONING PROGRAMS
A Work Conditioning Program is designed to prepare the body physically to perform the tasks required at work. Physiotherapist and Kinesiologists work towards improving employees' strength, flexibility, and endurance to the point where they can safely return to their job after an injury. The program is supervised by a Registered Physiotherapist, who will focus on specific strength and injury prevention exercises through job simulation tasks. The program is tailored to each individual client based on their unique goals. These programs are typically performed in a group setting.
