What is Clinical Pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise that originated in the 1920s. Over time, physiotherapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals have refined the method using modern principles of exercise and rehabilitation science. The ultimate goal of Pilates is to optimize musculoskeletal performance, including strength, flexibility, and endurance, while minimizing the risk of injury. Mat workouts include balanced exercise sequences suitable for all ages and populations, focusing on core stability, shoulder girdle stabilization, breathing, and proper placement of the pelvis, ribs, neck, and head.
Clinical Pilates can either be performed on a one-on-one basis or in a small group class.
Who would benefit from Clinical Pilates?
This exercise method is particularly beneficial for those with chronic back and neck pain, as well as recurring injuries.
